Accounts and Payments
Agents and Accounts
Learn how accounts hold funds and which accounts your agent app can use.
On This Page
You can give your agent one or more accounts to pay for different tasks. Each account has its own funds and spending rules. Your first account is Checking.
Checking
Open Checking to view balances, add funds, review transfers, and change spending rules.
Each account has its own wallet, balances, spending rules, and connection permissions. One account’s funds and transfer limit are separate from another account’s.
Balances
Accounts use confidential balances for supported deposits, swaps, transfers, and withdrawals. There is one balance view; there is no execution-mode switch. MCP balance requests use source: confidential.
An older account may need a signed policy update before it can use confidential operations. Updating its policy does not move any existing funds. Follow the account’s status before making a payment.
Check that the asset and network support the transaction you want to make. Total portfolio value does not mean every asset can be used for every transaction.
Withdraw Funds
Open the intended account and choose Withdraw. Select the token, network, and recipient, then enter the amount. Review the selected payment asset, available balance, route, and any fees before confirming.
Use max uses the available balance, excluding funds reserved by pending transfers. A pending approval or timelock remains subject to the account’s rules.
Subaccounts
Use separate accounts for different purposes, such as research or recurring tasks. Each account has its own funds and spending rules.
Choose Which Accounts Each Connection Can Use
When your agent app signs in, you choose the agent it uses, then select the accounts it can use and complete the signature request for each one. One connection can access several selected accounts of the same agent through the one Model Context Protocol (MCP) URL.
Ask your app to call get_accounts. Use the exact returned account name in later requests so it uses the intended account.
Available Funds and Outgoing Transfers
Transfers may be limited by a transfer limit, timelock or approval, Account Whitelist, or Account Hold. Check account settings and the transfer’s status if a request cannot proceed.
