Timelocks
Delay outgoing transfers so you have time to review or cancel them.
On This Page
A timelock adds a waiting period before an outgoing transaction can proceed. It gives you time to review the request and use the available cancellation option.
Set the Delay
- Open Checking → Settings → Timelock.
- Choose no delay, a preset, or a custom duration where offered.
- Review the value and complete the signature request using the wallet or passkey you signed in with.
- Check the saved account rules and any pending change.
Setup supports custom delays of up to 30 days (720 hours). Changing a value without saving it does not change the active rules.
Review a Waiting Transfer
Open Transfer Activity & Review → Timelock. Check the account, recipient, asset, amount, and scheduled release.
A waiting transfer is still pending. If you want to stop it, use the cancellation option shown before it executes. Then check the transfer’s status.
Timelocks and Approvals
A delay and an approval are separate requirements. A request can wait for a timer, your decision, or both.
If you want to approve or reject payments yourself, enable human review. It works with a NEAR wallet or a passkey, and you approve each request with the wallet or passkey you signed in with. EVM wallets are coming soon.
Read about approvals and Account Hold.
After the Waiting Period
The transfer still depends on account rules, available funds, the account whitelist, and any active Account Hold. A timer reaching zero does not mean the payment completed. Check the final transfer status.
